Training

We are actively involved in Training and Research: all our work is evaluated and reviewed.

The Centre conducts training for such organisations as Kent County Council Emergency Planning Unit, East Kent Hospitals and Community Trusts, Ashford Borough Council, Mid Kent Education Department and Medway Council Psychology Department.

These activities have included work-life balance training, critical incident stress management, counselling skills, bullying & harassment training and fundamentals of clinical supervision.

The Centre has designed bespoke training packages for many other organisations.

We also regularly conduct Continuing Professional Development activities for counsellors. For 2008 our programme will be:

Working with Self Harm                    Friday 5^th September
Dialectic Behavioural Therapy       Friday 19^th September
Working with Cancer                        Friday 26^th September
Domestic Violence                            Friday 3^rd October
Working with Children                      Friday 14^th November

All training days will be held at the Dover Counselling Centre

Costs:
If you are paying for yourself: £60 per day workshop
If you are paid for by work (organisationally funded): £80 per day workshop

A £10 non-refundable deposit is required for each course

Tea & coffee will be provided, but please bring a packed lunch (there are shops, cafes and restaurants within walking distance of the Centre

A discount is available for groups of people from an single organisation.
